The SLAM 2-Day Human Airway Cadaver Lab & AirMan Advanced Airway workshop is just around the corner.  We have changed the venue and the dates for the conference as follows:

The workshop location which was previously planeed to be held over two weekends in Fort Worth has been rescheduled to be held on October 30 and 31, 2004 at  
Parker College of Chiropractic

Course Overview

  • training using human cadavers,
  • porcine cricothyrotomy lab using pig laryngeal-tracheal segments,
  • laerdal AirMan computerized airway simulators and intubation trainers.
  • Lecture: -
    • SLAM Emergency Airway Flowchart - A - Z management of the Human Airway - technique selection criteria -
    • Airway Assessment -
    • Rapid Sequence Induction -
    • Rescuing and overcoming difficult/failed intubation
    • Evidence-based confirmation of tracheal intubation and monitoring of lung ventilation. -
    • Criteria for Rescue Ventilation -
  • Cricothyrotomy using pig laryngeal-tracheal segments for the porcine cricothyrotomy lab include:  percutaneous dilational cricothyrotomy and surgical cricothyrotmy.
  • Hands-on instruction includes:
    • Human cadavers for the human airway cadaver lab
    • State  of the art airway simulators (AirMan or SimMan) -

  • You cannot beat this course for the content and exposure you will receive about management of the emergency airway.
  • No matter where you practice airway management (field, anesthesia, emergency medicine, other) you will be satisfied with the content.
  • Certificate of Attendance: up to 15 hours of CE/CME is awarded
  • A SLAM Airway Provider Card is awarded: Good for 2 years.
  • A SLAM Bag with bougie introducer and other valuable information on airway management is provided (very practical).
  • CE and CME will be provided by Air and Surface Transport Nurses Association, CECBEMS, Texas Dept of Health, International Trauma Anesthesia and Critical Care Society (ITACCS) and AANA.
